Because you don't want to be Terry Schiavo...

Places I will NEVER go--

New Bedford, Massachusetts.

BOSTON (Reuters) - An 18-year-old man opened fire in a Massachusetts' gay bar and attacked patrons with a hatchet, wounding three people, police said on Thursday.

The attack at Puzzles Lounge in New Bedford, a city about 58 miles south of Boston, took place around midnight on Wednesday and was being treated as an apparent hate crime.

Police said the man entered the bar, ordered a drink and asked the bartender if he was in a gay bar. When told that it was, he reached into his coat and pulled out a hatchet and attacked the man next to him.

As patrons attempted to restrain him, he drew a gun and fired several shots, wounding two people, police said.

Two of the wounded were airlifted to a Boston hospital.

The gunman fled. Police later identified him as Jacob Robida, an 18-year-old described as extremely violent. They said he was wanted for three counts of attempted murder and hate crimes related to the attack.

New Bedford was also the scene of another high-profile bar attack -- the 1983 gang rape of a woman whose case inspired the 1988 movie "The Accused" starring Jodie Foster

NEW PLAN

I'm dropping a class. I think I can, and then I'll just have the minimum courseload.
I woke up this morning with this fantastic idea.

In other news-- my kitten slept through the night.

I did no work tonight. None.

Oh well. Skipping class in the morning is a foregone conclusion I'm afraid. I keep waiting to get "into the swing of things" this semester, and it just isn't happening. My grades to work ratio last semester would discourage anyone, and although just a bump in the road as my mother says, I think this one has somehow damaged my shocks.
All I want right now is a job for this summer that pays enough for me to scrape by in New York. That's it. In a typical single-minded fashion, I have been feverishly working toward this, but to no avail. Being squarely in the middle of a third-tier law school class makes me about as qualified as my cat to work at a New York City law firm.

People who should be studying...

That would be me.

However, I'm watching "Rebuilt: The Human Body Shop" on Discovery Health Channel. Yet more fantastic programming from these people. Honestly there is not a single show on this whole network that I don't love. The guy they are talking about now was in the Air Force, and then lost his leg in an accident. Now he's flying again with some kind of high-tech space leg, and has become the go-to guy in the military for other soldiers who have lost limbs. I feel a little embarrassed that I am so inspired by this...but I can't help it!

Guilty Pleasure of the Day?

I can't get enough of trashy celebrity news.

Get this - Stephanie Tanner used to be hooked on meth, and even better----
an intervention was staged by Mary Kate, Ashley, John Stamos, AND Bob Saget.

I would probably give my left pinky toe to have been in that room.
In typical endless pursuit fashion, I just got back from the gym and decided to "create a blog!" I think to myself: "hey i've got lots to say...i mean, think about all the interesting stuff i do...eat, sleep, study, play with my cat.....well, ok maybe i've got something to offer a potential audience..."
Then I realized that this was not true, but I was going to do it anyway.
